. . . select an opera and imagine that you have the power to restore
life to deceased opera singers* in the following broad categories and
in implied sub-categories:

Soprano
Mezzo-Soprano
Contralto

Tenor
Baritone
Bass
*Plus one conductor

In all, you have as many choices as are needed to cast the fantasy
opera of your choice. You need not have heard the artist(s) live or
even via recording. Please justify (or explain) your choices should
you be so inclined.

Kindest regards,

There is a broadcast Met performance from 1987, that Sirius has
re-broadcast. Perhaps you could get it from the streaming service. It's
late for Soderstrom, but very good.

It's a shame that (as far as I know) Soederstrom
never recorded a complete Marschallin.

i'd like to rehear the Chicago Aida I saw in 1958, with Rysanek,
Simionato, Bjoerling, Gobbi and Wilderman. I'd also like to know
whether Rysanek really took the Eflat ending in the Triumphal scene
that I still remember hearing from that night.

I'd also like to hear the Boheme I saw with Albanese ca. 1950, just
for her "Scusi" in Act 1.

There are a few more (Caruso in anything, e.g, Butterfly), but these
will do for now.
