Richard Tucker was asked to sing the Panis Angelicus from the choir
loft of St. Patrick's Cathedral for the funeral service of Robert
Kennedy in early June of 1968. He obviously had to learn it on very
short and sad notice, and this rare performance now exists thanks to
Youtube. It was the only time in his life that Tucker ever sang this
piece. After he passed away in 1975, Tucker became the only person of
the Jewish faith to be given a memorial mass at St. Patrick's. He did
a lot of charitable work and appearances for Catholic Charities in NYC
and area.

Thank you for you moving and sweet post. I have taken the liberty of
forwarding this to the Tucker family, and Sam Ramey. I feel sure they
will want to read it. Thanks again.

Best wishes,
Ed
