I don't know anything about her. She seems to be second-cast for very heavy
roles (I remember her alternating with Stapp in a SFO Nabucco 22 years ago or
so).

I see she is on the MET roster. Covering Kabanicha or something? Not still
Abigaille right?

did a wonderful Herodias 2 hrs.ago at City Opera.....but Linda is mostly
teaching in Tulsa,Oklahoma,where she lives..a wonderful,natural person....
She sent me a Nabucco Abigaille photo on a motorcycle...inscribed
"Harley-DIVASSON"
She is a fine singer but is really not doing much singing publicly..Peter is at
City Opera..a great duo of people whom I really love..Charlie

A few years ago I saw her here in Nashville singing the last scene from
Siegfried in concert with our symphony. I thought she was horrible, but I
cannot remember the details other than a wobbly tone.

I saw Roark-Strummer as Abigaille and as Lady Macbeth at the Columbus
Opera - she was amazing. Her Abigaille practically cracked the
plaster, with powerful high notes and a menacing voce di petto. To
top it off, she decorated the **** out of the second verse of "salgo
gia del trono aurato". She ended the duet with Nabucco with an evil
cackle that made my hairs stand on end. It was THE best performance
of this role that I've ever heard. I'm still kicking myself for
missing her Herodias.

Hi..Glad you liked Linda....She does not use much chest voice on the earlier
performances (Due Foscari Video) but she made some changes..and now decided to
do more German repertory..but she is still doing more teaching than
singing...CH

Thanks, Richard. I saw that performance of Nabucco at the Academy of Music.
It was thrilling in many ways, including Roark Strummer's contribution.
Best,
Ken
