Can you be objective if you know an artist?

Well, this has been spoken of so often...but I feel one can for the following
reasons:

1. You usually "know" the artist just BECAUSE you loved him/her FIRST..and
therefore your love for the singer had resulted sometimes in a friendship..not
thje reverse,so peeople cannot say, "Well you only like so-and-so because you
know him/her."

2. I find myself MORE critical..even TOO critical of artists i know
personally, because I do not want people to say that the only reason I like them
is personal.

3. I do think,if you are fair, and take yourself "away from the personal part'
that you absolutely can be fair in judging an artist on their own merits..and
not because they cooked you a nice meal or told you you are sexy.

However, i do recall one or two incidents when perhaps I made :"more
excuses" for someone who flopped because the personal relationship might have
gotten in the way.....
Your thoughts??????? Charlie

Seems like only yesterday that you first posted this. And yes, we're aware of
all the artists you know.

Please stop whoring for responses.
