If you're serious, fine. However, he hasn't released an album of
original material since 2003! Maybe it's time to discover a new "love"
perhaps?

If you're not serious but instead having a laugh at our
expense...well, congrats. You win. (sigh) Time to go play in a new
sandbox, though.

See, this is why this group is dead and buried. Someone posts what is
now obviously a troll attempt and no one responds to it either as a)
legit or b) a troll.

Man, I need to check the sales figures somewhere for new age music.
Because NO ONE must be buying it these days or if they are, then those
people just flat out REFUSE to chat about it on the internet (I
suspect more the latter than the former). Did everyone who used to
discuss music just grow bored with the discussion of it?

Oh WTF....it's not even worth getting worked up about this. LOL
hahahaha....lookit me, I don't give a shit any more...la dee da la dee
da.

And people wonder why I burned out on writing reviews....well, no one
is reading 'em so what's the point?

Do sales figures for new age even exist? iTunes no longer has it as a
category. You have to search under the artist's name and even then they
have most artists all screwed up. The few remaining music stores no
longer have a new age category. The last time I found new age CDS, they
were under "yoga and meditation". And rumor has it that the new age
Grammy will soon be no more (Guess Kitaro and Enya ran out of shelf space :)

How about Soundscan? Yeah, that won't count digital sales, but after
all, how many new agers download music? Real Music, New Earth and a
few other labels still sell "real" CDs so there must be SOME stores
still doing it, right?

Actually, I do the website for David Lanz and believe it or not, LOTS of
people download his music from CD Baby. Mostly from overseas where they
can't buy CDs as easily as we can over here. And Soundscan and the rest
of the charts do not take into consideration any sales the artist makes
at his/her concerts. There is no way to report those. A lot of artists
sell CDs from their sites and I'm inclined to think that the website is
where fans go as they feel they are supporting the artist whose music
they like.

A great composer who got taken in by commercialism. Someone please
record his music on acoustic grand piano without the electronic
additions.

Yanni was destroyed as a composer and performer by his (now long over)
relationship with Linda Evans.

I don't read reviews. But with the age of downloading before buying,
or torrents, who needs reviews when you're a few clicks away from
checking it out yourself.

I've always loved new age stuff, but never heard of "Township" or
"Tuven Throat singing" until , literally, yesterday. I love it, but
have a feeling it will get old soon, since the number of artists is
limited.
