Q: Portrait of A Lady

I just bought the Portrait of A Lady score on CD after reading such
good reviews about it on this wonderful newsgroup. Yes! it is one of
the most beautiful and enchanting scores written so far, IMHO. So sad
that it is not nominated for an Academy Award :(

By the way, this Portrait of A Lady CD that i bought is made in
Germany. I notice that it sounds rather lack of high frequencies or
fidelity when compared to other film scores or classical music.
Maybe it is just me.....does anyone care to enlighten me or comment on
this? I am wondering if the USA pressing of this title may sound any
better? Is this a recording OR mastering 'problem'?
