7. This week's top 50:
Four weeks pass and yet the top 2 remain unchanged, with Sandi
Thom's "I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker" the biggest selling single
across Australia, followed by Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack".
While Sandi's album, "Smile...It Confuses People", has been
charting within the lower reaches of the albums chart for the
last couple of months, things change this week as her album
bullets to number 11.
Things hot up in the top 10. Thanks to 3 new entries slamming
straight into the top 6, we see some big falls to accommodate
the new singles. The Pussycat Dolls' "Buttons" slips to its
lowest position ever, down from 5 to 8, while Rihanna's
"Unfaithful" also enters uncharted territory, diving from 7 to
10. Leaving the top 10 is Shannon Noll's "Lonely", Shakira's
"Hips Don't Lie" (down from 6 to 12) and Nelly Furtado's
"Promiscuous".
There are 7 brand new hits into this week's top 50, with
5 of them coming straight into the top 20.
3. TALLER, STRONGER, BETTER - Guy Sebastian
The winner of the 2003 Australian Idol series returns to the
charts after an almost 18 month absence. His first album,
"Just As I Am", was a 6-times platinum seller and chart-topper,
but only spawned two singles, "Angels Brought Me Here" and
"All I Need Is You", both of which went to number one.
In late 2004, he released his second album, "Beautiful
Life". It peaked at number 2, went platinum, and spawned
the number one single, "Out With My Baby". The next two
singles released from that album were "Kryptonite" and
"Oh Oh", both of which struggled to peak within the top 15.
Guy Sebastian's third album will be released in coming months
and from that album comes the first single, "Taller, Stronger,
Better". This inspirational ballad was co-written by Guy
while he was starring a few months ago in Channel 7's TV series
"It Takes Two" as the professional singing partner of
Olympic swimmer Sarah Ryan. "Taller, Stronger, Better"
now becomes his first top 10 hit single in two years,
ending up as this week's highest new entry at number 3.

5. CALL ME WHEN YOU'RE SOBER - Evanescence
American rock band, Evanescence, spent a marathon
6 weeks at number one on the singles chart with the
track "Bring Me To Life" back in May 2003. It was
lifted off their huge 6-times platinum selling "Fallen"
album which also gave them more big hits in the form of
"Going Under" (number 14, August 2003), "My Immortal"
(number 4, January 2004) and "Everybody's Fool" (number 23,
June 2004). In the second half of 2004, Evanescence's
lead vocalist, Amy Lee, released a collaboration with
South African rock band Seether, titled "Broken". The
single was another big hit, peaking at number 3 and
spending 21 weeks in the top 50. Originally a 4-piece
group, Evanescence has experienced some line-up changes
over the last few years, with the latest being the addition
of bass player Tim McCord to what is now a 5-piece outfit.
The second studio album for Evanescence is titled "The Open
Door" and is out in a few days. From that album comes
the first single, "Call Me When You're Sober", which
propells the group back into the top end of the charts
by debuting at number 5 this week. The music video
for "Call Me When You're Sober" was filmed in Los Angeles
and is based on the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood.

6. MANEATER - Nelly Furtado
When 27 year-old Canadian singer and song-writer Nelly Furtado
returned to the music charts earlier this year, the world was
a little taken aback by her transformation in musical style.
In 2001, the wholesome easy listening songs "I'm Like A Bird"
and "Turn Off The Light" were big top 10 hits and were lifted
off her double-platinum selling "Whoa, Nelly!" album. The
follow-up album, "Folklore" and first single, "Powerless"
were poor sellers, banishing Nelly Furtado to the land of
the one hit wonders. However, what we didn't expect was
that not only would she relaunch her career in a big way in
2006, but associated with that would be a new direction in
musical sound. The Nelly Furtado of 2006 is a sassy
and sexy pop artist with a dash of hip-hop. The transformation
has been best illustrated by her first new single, "Promiscuous
Girl", complete with its controversial title and provocative
lyrics. And to give her the musical credit she wanted to
achieve with her new sound, she invited urban music producer
Timbaland to sing with her on the track. "Promiscuous Girl"
was an international smash hit, going to number 2 here in
Australia, topping the U.S. Billboard charts and enjoying
a stint in the top 3 in Britain. Nelly's next single,
"Maneater", was actually her first new single release in
Europe and Asia, and continues to capitalize on her new
found success and new fan base, debuting at number 6
this week after topping the U.K. charts. Nelly's new
album, "Loose", is doing well, currently top 10 on the
albums chart and certified as a gold seller.

14. SARAH - Eskimo Joe
Perth rock group, Eskimo Joe, are enjoying the most successful
period in their career since their formation in 1997. Up until
this year, their highest charting single was 2004's "From The
Sea" which peaked at number 33. Earlier this year, the title
track from their third studio album "Black Fingernails, Red
Wine", spent 3 weeks at number 6, while their album debuted
at number one when released back in June. The group's latest
single, "Sarah", debuts at number 14 this week. More good
things await Eskimo Joe - they have been nominated for 5 awards
at this year's annual Australian Record Industry Association
(ARIA) awards, to be held in Sydney on 29th October.

18. COME ON COME ON - Little Birdy
Another Perth rock group to have a single debut on the
singles chart this week is Little Birdy. Formed in 2002,
the group scored a couple of hit E.P.s with a self-titled
release featuring the song "Relapse" and the E.P. "This Is A
Love Song". In 2004, Little Birdy released their first
studio album, "BigBigLove", which debuted at number 5.
From that album came the top 30 hit, "Beautiful To Me".
The group's second album, "Hollywood", will be released
soon and from that album comes their brand new single,
"Come On Come One". That single debuts at number 18 and
instantly becomes their highest charting song to date.

42. YOUNG FOLKS - Peter Bjorn And John featuring Victoria Bergsman
The 3-piece outfit of Peter Bjorn And John come from Sweden
and recently released their album "Writer's Block". From
that album comes the single "Young Folks" which features
guest vocals from Victoria Bergsman of The Concretes. The
single debuts at number 42 and features an animated music
video of a teenage boy and girl who meet up for a party.

49. BORDERLINE - Michael Gray featuring Shelly Poole
This week's final new entry comes from British DJ and
producer, Michael Gray. Back in early 2005, he went
to number 14 with the Friday night party anthem single
"The Weekend". Now he returns with a new single
featuring vocals supplied by Shelly Poole. The song
"Borderline" features a music video with scantily dressed
women dancing and flaunting their underwear on the
rooftop of a city building. Shelly Poole is no stranger to
the Australian music charts. She was one half of the singing
and song-writing team of the band Alisha's Attic who had
two moderate hit singles in Australia during 1997 - "I Am,
I Feel" and "Alisha Rules The World".

9. This week's feature song lyrics
----------------------------------------
TALLER, STRONGER, BETTER - Guy Sebastian
----------------------------------------
I've met the darkness
Been held by the night
Lonely was there in my arms
I've been with broken
I've stared in her eyes
Emptiness left me this scar
But I heard your thoughts
Calling me out of the cold
CHORUS:
And now I can live again
I have been chosen to run with the wind
I can go higher I know I will soar
I'm taller, I'm stronger, I'm better then before
Ive walked through fire so I could become
All that you said I could be
And now my breath has a reason
My sky has a sun
Coz in you Ive found all that I need
Your touched revived me
It was your love that opened my eyes
(CHORUS)
Because I broke through the rain
Stuck through the storm
Now I know I remain
And I can do the impossible
I can reach the unreachable
Its my time
I will rise and live
And I can go higher I know I will soar
I'm taller, I'm stronger, I'm better then before
And now I can live again
I have been chosen to run with the wind
I can go higher I know I will soar

CALL ME WHEN YOU'RE SOBER - Evanescence
---------------------------------------
Don't cry to me.
If you loved me,
You would be here with me.
You want me,
Come find me.
Make up your mind.
Should I let you fall?
Lose it all?
So maybe you can remember yourself.
Can't keep believing,
We're only deceiving ourselves .
And I'm sick of the lie,
And you're too late.
Don't cry to me.
If you loved me,
You would be here with me.
You want me,
Come find me.
Make up your mind.
Couldn't take the blame.
Sick with shame.
Must be exhausting to lose your own game.
Selfishly hated,
No wonder you're jaded.
You can't play the victim this time,
And you're too late.
Don't cry to me.
If you loved me,
You would be here with me.
You want me,
Come find me.
Make up your mind.
You never call me when you're sober.
You only want it cause it's over,
It's over.
How could I have burned paradise?
How could I - you were never mine.
So don't cry to me.
If you loved me,
You would be here with me.
Don't lie to me,
Just get your things.
I've made up your mind.

MANEATER - Nelly Furtado
------------------------
Everybody look at me, me
I walk in the door you start screaming
Come on everybody what chu here for?
Move your body around like a nympho
Everybody get your necks to crack around
All you crazy people come on jump around
I want to see you all on your knees, knees
You either want to be with me, or be me!
Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
make you buy cars
make you cut cords
make you fall, real hard in love
She's a Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
make you buy cars
make you cut cords
Wish you never ever met her at all!
And when she walks she walks with passion
when she talks, she talks like she can handle it
when she asks for something boy she means it
even if you never ever seen it
everybody get your necks to crack around
all you crazy people come on jump around
you doing anything to keep her by your side
because, she said she love you, love you long time!
Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
make you buy cars
make you cut cords
make you fall, real hard in love
She's a Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
make you buy cars
make you cut cords
Wish you never ever met her at all!
Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
make you buy cars
make you cut cords
make you fall, real hard in love
She's a Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
make you buy cars
make you cut cords
Wish you never ever met her at all!
Never ever met her at all!
you wish you never ever met her at all!
you wish you never ever met her at all!
you wish you never ever met her at all!
you wish you never ever met her at all!

SARAH - Eskimo Joe
------------------
Sarah
Won't you tell me your name
I've been waiting here for hours
In the garden by the flowers
You're so shy
So just open your eyes
The boys all form a line
To be written out in time
A long, long, long, long time ago
Emergency
I think I'm falling apart
Emergency
I think I am losing the fight
And I don't know if I can do it
I don't know if I can try
I don't know if anyone asked me the reason I lied
She sighed
Sarah
Is she your new best friend?
One day it will end, you know it will
You're so shy
So just let it fall apart
Let it stumble in the dark
With the razors in your heart
A long, long, long, long time ago
Emergency
I think I'm falling apart
Emergency
I think I am losing the fight
And I don't know if I can do it
I don't know if I can try
I don't know if anyone asked me the reason I lied
She sighed
Emergency
I think I'm falling apart
Emergency
I think I am losing the fight
And I don't know if I can do it
I don't know if I can try
I don't know if anyone asked me the reason I lied
She sighed

COME ON COME ON - Little Birdy
------------------------------
I've got someone on the left of my left side
I've got sicker and sicker at my fault
I got foolish so I took him on home
I said ooooooh oooooh
You don't need me
Don't tell me you want me
I...I'm over it
You can't have it
And that's why you want it
I...I'm over it
Baby if you and me aren't trying
I can't see the point
Come on come on
Baby if you and me aren't trying
I can't see the point
Come on come on
I've got exorcist on my molestation
Foolish mind giving me my own halo
I am tempted into you're living room
I said ooooooh oooooh
You don't need me
Don't tell me you want me
I...I'm over it
You can't have it
And that's why you want it
I...I'm over it
Baby if you and me aren't trying
I can't see the point
Come on come on
Baby if you and me aren't trying
I can't see the point
Come on come on
Coz you and me are holding
You and me are holding on
But it all
Aches, and pulls
This heart of mine
I will place
My weary head
And sleep alone
Baby if you and me aren't trying
I can't see the point
Come on come on
Baby if you and me aren't trying
I can't see the point
Come on come on
Coz you and me are holding
You and me are holding on

BORDERLINE - Michael Gray featuring Shelly Poole
------------------------------------------------
It's gonna be another lonely night
One more and I'm gonna die
Wired out waiting for the sign
Coz your a risk and I'm borderline
All I know is I've been sitting with this fire and it burns inside
Man if you want me to walk your line
then dont stop at 8 no lets take it
To the 9's
I know that we should lay out and love
Because man I really need it
To the 9's
I may be full but It's not enough
Come and show me how to feel it
All or nothing
You know thats how I play the game and I'm ready now
Man if you want me, come cross the line and
Slide up to 8 then lets take it
To the 9's
