Dominator's UK Top 40 Chart Analysis (w/e September 3rd 1994)

In this week's chart there are the same number of new entries as last week,
14, 5 stay still, only 4 go up, and a massive 17 head downwards.
Interestingly, 10 of the 14 records which dropped out this week were new
entries last week!

When I went to the cinema to see TRUE LIES, the advert for Impulse Body Spray
came on featuring the girl with the stupid hairstyle who is also filmed using
her deodorant. When the advert finished, someone in the audience said :

Q : What exactly is meant in the current Ariel advert on TV with the stupid
chef who clasps his wife's hand and says "Put this on camera, as we don't have
very much time to hold hands", to which she replies "No, that's very true."

39 NEW ENTRY : Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live EP
Two of the tracks featured on this single are "Red Rain" and "San Jacinto",
and if you compare the new live video with the live CD, one has RR but not
SJ, and vice versa. Very bizarre considering that there would be plenty of
space left on the video and double-CD. Maybe it's just a ploy to make everyone
buy both?
38 NEW ENTRY : Arrow - Hot Hot Hot
This one made the charts in July/Aug 84, so this must be some sort of 10-year
anniversary. I've just been surprised to find out that it only made No.59
back then, especially since it always goes down a storm in the right places!
Anyone reading this who was at the 94 Keele University Summer Party when it
was playing? It was the last track being played by the steel band and lasted
for about 10 minutes. Superb!

Yet another excellent tune from this group, but when it begins I always think
it's going to be Cat Stevens' "Moon Shadow".

Led Zeppelin released at least 10 singles in the US between 1969 and 1979,
9 of them were top 80 hits (additionally, B-side "Living Loving Maid"
also charted), but "Candy Rock Store" from 1976 never made the top 100
at all.

Some US singles included: Good Times Bad Times, Whole Lotta Love/
Living Loving Maid, Immigrant Song, Black Dog, Rock And Roll,
Over The Hills..., DYer Maker, Trampled Under Foot, Candy Store Rock.
The only UK 45s I've got are: Whole Lotta Love/Good Times/Immigrant
Song/Hey Hey What..., and That's The Way/Going To Calif/Stairway...
But I think those were for use in a Juke box. I did not realize
LedZep never issued normal 45s for the UK singles market.
