"Show Me" song origins

A while ago I was watching with a friend the Japanese drama "Danjo
shichinin aki monogatari" (which originally aired in 1987) which has a
nice theme song titled "Show Me." My friend said he'd heard the song
played on the radio fairly frequently a few months ago, except with
English lyrics, but he couldn't remember the group. Does anyone know
what group did this song in the US and what album it's from? I'm
interested in the origin of this song, since it might be the case of a
US group covering a Japanese pop song (I've only known it to happen in
the reverse direction before).

I believe the song you are talking about is SHOW ME by the COVERGIRLS
and it is on their album called SHOW ME. The song sort of goes
"Show me show me that you really love me
because actions speak louder than words"
