Sounds plausible enough... anyway, here's one of the two song-poems we
created last night. Comments and critique welcome, as usual.

Pistolshots On Buford Highway

Moonshine across the bay
I'm on the night shift
what can I say.
Here they come wandering
pranksters and children,
at the powerlines off Buford Highway.
We come a-wassailing
through the mist.
Ever-loving darling,
cupid decieved.
I clean my gun... on Buford Highway.

I don't know what it is
but it doesn't seem right.
I look in the mirror
and I'm still the same height.
If you come wandering,
through the mire...
at the bog on Buford Highway.
I like what you said
from 6000 miles awy
I sit here and dream... on Buford Highway.

A sketch of your cold black eyes.
A sketch of your...

Moonlight across my house
sign of the big key still outside.
If you come a shuffling
and think you know my name,
some old phonebooth on Buford Highway.
Pistol shots
while we're stopped at the light,
Visualize the scene of Buford Highway.
Spectral, on Buford Highway.

No it doesn't. the logical gap between "energy cannot be destroyed" and

"some part of us continues to exist, perhaps on another plane not

noticeable to us as humans" makes the Grand Canyon into a sidewalk
crack. Nobody can doubt that the "parts" of us do not cease to exist:
this is guaranteed beyond mere plausibility. But the idea that because a
billion scattered particles of what once constituted a "self" still
exist, that "self" still exists is ridiculous. You take a radio, smash
it into a trillion small particles, and where is the radio? It has
ceased to exist. This is where the phrase "the sum is greater than its
parts" really comes home to roost. A human being is NOT a set of atoms,
nor a vaguely defined idea of "energy" but a unique combination. Once
that combination is damaged beyond a certain point (and the point might
be debatable: are you you without two legs, any limbs, your eyes, your
head?), but utter death is utter death. And the addition of lame
mystcism attempting to disguise itself as science ("on another plane not
noticeable to us as humans") is not only rather dense, it also is a cop
out on the notion of knowledge: if we - as humans - are incapable of
noticing someting, it - for all intents and purposes - does not exist to
be proved or disproved: it is a fantasy.

I love how you edited out the other part, let me put it in, rephrased since
I can't recall exactly what you cowardly snipped.

Like headless worms and headless chickens, Dockery can still shit.

As for the other, I was already a dance instructor when I read Yeats'
assert an inability to tell the dancer from the dance, and thought it
a bit naive.
In the one intersection that makes a simile of it, he has a point,
but it isn't extensible, as it slides immediately into the claimed
inability to distinguish a verb from its noun.

Falling from Grace

Her eyes matched the shabby sepia hotel
the waitress told us the cream had a funny smell.
So we opted for black
before the ride back
to the city.

Mallard duck, mandolin, county fair
Ferris wheel wind
blows back her hair.
Falling from grace
it's a long way down there.

Ten years ago, man in a balloon
he went up high
and he fell to his doom.
All the while he was yelling
it wasn't pretty.

Everybody knows you've been cheating
wipe that smile from your face.

Everybody says I've been sober
Don't cry boy, you know what you done.

All I know is that I gotta turn it loose
three weeks now
and I'm headed for the noose.
Falling from grace it's a pity.

They think they're fixing
the world through fear
but they're out there
and I'm still in here.
So it goes by so fast
before the ride back
to the city.

Nah, that's bullshit.

Yes, we recorded a version last month at Larry Rose Studio for release
on a CD this fall, with Doug Conley on bass, John Phillips on drums,
and Gene Woolfolk on flute along with Henry and me... a really good
version which will most likely appear here after the CD is released.
Thanks for the interest, and if you'd like to drop me a note with your

I don't know anything about ''implied consent'' or whatever, but I
know that as soon as Gene made it clear that he wanted his music
erased, I insisted that this be done.

Here's a column I wrote about the piece back in September of last
year, right after the video was made, which I know that Gene saw. He
didn't say anything about having the video erased at that it, but if
he had I would have made sure that this would have been done...

To The Magic Store by Will Dockery

A short column this month to make space for an important ---and
missing--- couple of art pieces:

On July 18 2003 Albert Woolfolk was murdered. He was last seen alive
at Coach's Corner Sports Bar with two individuals on a Wednesday
night, where he was driven home in his car. Taken at the time of the
killing were two art pieces, one of which is "Two Setters" by the
Belgian artist Dansardt, an engraving from the early 1900s. Anyone
seeing or knowing the location of these art works please contact the
CPD:

http://www.columbusga.org/police/WoolfolkArt.html

Lyrics to the newest Shadowville Installation song-poem, available on
YouTube in video form:

Toxin on Glass

Conversation at a wind chill minus twenty-five
midnight on a bus stop bench somewhere in the
Druid Hills; twenty-four years gone since
you're a woman now

Fascination with the lives of others remains
daylight searing through a crack in the sky
like blue kashmir
like a toxin on glass
like a culture on a slide

fragile shells just crumbled away

-Maxwell, Woolfolk, Frankfurth & Dockery

This was in September of last year, when Woolfolk and Wilson were
still friends of mine. The focus quickly turned from making music to
other issues, and about a month later Wilson and I parted ways, while
Wilson and Woolfolk remained friends, hanging around and travelling
together on a daily basis. During this time I don't know if they
discussed the video, since from late November 2007 until May 2008 I
had no contact with Wilson, due to death threats he'd made against me
to a third party... the cause of my choice to sever ties with him in
December. Gene never spoke of it to me during this time.

In May of 2008, I had a meeting with P.D. Wilson at Gene Woolfolk's
house, where he apologised for the events of the year before, and we
buried the hetchet. A week or so later, Gene contacted me with his
desire to have his music removed from the video, and at the same time
he contacted Wilson.

I was then and am now of the opinion that when Gene decided he didn't
want his music on the video, then it should be removed. When the video
was made, I'm sure there was no malicious intent, though... it was a
musical experiment using the work of friends, Gene-0's piano track, my
vocals, et cetera, that went wrong. I said then and say now, erase the
track, apologize for the mistake, and move on to something productive.

My wish is to remain friends with Gene, and in fact have collaborated
on several new pieces of music-poetry since these events, working with
Henry Conley, I've offered my apologies for my involvement in this
fiasco, and feel that since the track no longer exists, the matter is
resolved from my side of the fence.

Likewise, since the rift between me and Wilson was resolved in May, I
don't want to be in the middle of his current fued with Woolfolk...
just as Woolfolk didn't become involved in my dispute with Wilson last
year.

I look forward to any feedback on this from both Gene Woolfolk and
P.D. Wilson, but these are the facts as I know them.

So with your sad post-editing and mangled reading abilities, are you saying
that you're having fantasies about fucking me?

Sorry Duckery...I love birds and all, but I'm not into psychopathic poultry.
Go find someone else to quack your love to.

Dockery is proud of the fact that he used illegal and dangerous drugs. This
tells volumes about his character, if he had any.

Said a drunken old Georgian whose jugs
Were crawling with chiggers and bugs,
"They ain't none of 'em real --
They jes' part of the deal
When you buys recreational drugs."

There was an old Georgian who drank
Anything he could pour in his tank,
But his victims all scored
When he fell overboard,
For he claimed he'd quit drinking, and sank.
