Change the first letter of his name to a "B"

http://members.aol.com/ansermetniac/papermoon.mp3

It also helps if you have Conrad Gozzo on lead trumpet

Enjoy

Well, for starters, most of the good-for-nothing jazz "fans" and the
petulant musicians who make the G-man their whipping boy, a vessel
into which to pour their sour frustration at not being nearly a

Funny, I just did a quick search at Google for Paul Matton and I
didn't find any musicians.

Seems that not only do you have a serious case of G-envy but that
you're also a boot-and-shoe, dyed-in-the-wool, hope-to-die, gov't

Wow, tell us how you REALLY feel...

I used to know a guy who said that Led Zeppelin sucked. I asked him
why, and all he could say was "you know, they just SUCK." This was a
classic case of a fascinating psychological phenomenon whereby a person
with nothing to distinguish himself was able to pretend to be cooler
than the rest of us because unlike the stupid lemmings of society he did
not like Led Zeppelin. He didn't have anything tangible to be proud of,
so he picked something popular and defined himself as too good to like
it.

Jazz aficionados have a similar way to feel cool, but they don't have to
work as hard. They do it in the opposite direction. Most people don't
like jazz, so all they have to do is proclaim that they get it, and that
makes them the coolest thing since ice cream. By extension, anything
embraced by the masses sucks by comparison, not due to any empirical
measurement, but simply because it isn't their jazz.

I like the way you said it, but it's kind of like a pathological
psychosis, which wasn't really conveyed in your assessment.

Hey Abbedd!

This is the best thing I've ever come across on usenet!
Thanks for sharing it, it's a killer track.

I absolutely love this music. This track is from the cd "Benny Goodman and
his vocalists" and Benny sings on "gotta be this or that". One of my
favourite CDs is "benny goodman and helen forrest" from the same label.
When I discovered this music my whole life got better... now I also listen
to Artie Shaw, Sonny Stitt, Dexter Gordon... all the swing and bebop guys

I laugh at you Kenny G - you are absolutely nothing zero compared to these
men

You're right about Polka Dots. I heard Phil Woods and his group play
the living crap out of that tune a few months ago. The thing is that
the master players can take most any tune and turn it into a jewl.
Sonny Rollins' showcasing old cowboy tunes and ditties on one of his
earlier recordings would be a good example.
