Acadian , celtic or Cape Breton style accordian

I recently joined this list
I play fiddle and mando - some guitar ad viola
I would like to learn and listen to as much as I can.

Any suggestions from this list for recordings or clips that I can download
I also belong to Zune - and although it is not complete at least there is
some music available here
so I will search for any suggestions as to musicians

Any help is greatly appreciated in advance.

I don't know of any Cape Breton accordiOn tradition. Ther's a celtic
accordion compilation cd called Squeeze. I think.

I don't think there is such a thing as Cape Breton accordion, but
Fergie Macdonald (from Scotland) is probably the nearest you'll find
to Cape Breton style on a box.

You might also want to give Tommy Basker a listen (he is from Cape
Breton, plays diatonic harmonica).

Nobody's yet tried to emulate Cape Breton piano on an accordion.
Should be doable on a freebass if you're really, really good.

Thank so much for the references I am going to find all I can on these
musicianss
I think - that you seem to indicate that piano is a widespread instrument in
Cape Breton style music
I may be mistaken but anyway I still thirst for more music.
So may I ask you to where or to whom you can refer me to for piano and or
or vocals in the same or similar styles
I have some fiddle but I would even appreciate your referrals her

YouTube is a great resource for all kinds of music. And if you find a
clip you like, you can mark it as a favorite or use Real Player to
download it.

Once you are in there, do a search for Cape Breton music, Cape Breton
piano, Cape Breton fiddle, etc. You'll find quite a lot to watch and
listen to.
