Dominion accordion?

Any one ever found a Dominion accordion? I just brought one after falling in love with it on the shelf . looks to be 1970's but that's just a guess from some one not in the trade. I bought a new free bass 34 key PA less than a year ago. Alessandrini. The action is superb, the hand made reeds sound great, and the musette is tuned the way I wanted: light or swing style. I can't believe that it was some thirty years ago, because the incident is still fresh in my mind. I brought my kids to a small, indoor amusement park to ride a carousel. Somebody was repairing/restoring band organs in the building, and apparently didn't mind us looking on. I have recently come across a number of new accordions - (Hohner FUN line and Beltrami's new folk model) that say they are putting the reeds on the reed blocks with a layer of leather or cork as a gasket rather than waxing them in. Would someone elaborate on this or give an opinion as to the differences and similarities. Is one method superior or are there are... more »
