this is a frequently used phrase. Simpy means very old

"chills"/thrills means it gets him excited

the gist of the song is the guy wants to offer some kind of support/
protection

to someone he perceives as vulnerable

chills is the word in the song and is the word to use

I was merely explaining that chills in this context means thrills, as
in sexual attraction
