Anybody ever hear of, or know where I can find information on, an
upright with the label "Chicago & Sons, Inc." ?

I've got an upright my great-grandmother gave me and that's the label
above the keys. Also says "1903".

Can't seem to find any info about it, would appreciate any tips.

Thanks,

KevinW

Somehow, "Chicago and Sons" doesn't sound quite right...like part of the
decal is missing. Look inside the piano and see if there's a name cast
into the metal plate.

Ah, good point.

Says "Carlisle". The decal (which I assume is a very secondary thing
identification-wise as opposed to the cast name) does appear to be
complete.

Not a pressing thing, just curious as to any info available.

Thanks,

I have no idea what "Chicago and Sons, Inc." means...
there is no such name in Pierce Piano Atlas. Possibly
it was the name of the retailer who sold the piano.

Carlisle was made by Chase Hackley in Muskegon,
Michigan. There are serial numbers from 1900 to 1926.

If you search Chase Hackley in Google, you will find
some info:
