I just found this today and thought I'd share! Enjoy... First, one many of us have seen before -- take a peek at this. (Purdy) [link] Now, check this out! This is really the main point of my post. Cool, cool stuff here!! [link]... more »

RIP Jerry Fuchs
I know I haven't been around much lately. But I thought I'd stop by to post this: [link] [link] My favorite drummer, Jerry Fuchs, tragically passed away last night. He as born in Marietta, Georgia (my birth place) was a corner stone in the... more »

How much would you / could you hang on a kick drum?
Hey guys! How's things in here? I'm starting to get into alot of restaurant and small clubs with my blues trio, and the real estate up on stage (if we even get a stage) is becoming more and more hard to claim. So I'm trying to reduce my kit's footprint but still make it playable and still sound good.... more »

Snare Beds redux (-MIKE- or whomever)
Took a little trip to one of my student's homes last night to help them change out heads, tune etc. The kit was a Pacific with the satin stain finish. Heavy thickish shells, decent bearing edges, self tapping rods?, some were very hard to turn but not stripped, pain in the tush. Anyway, had trouble with the snare then inspected the snare bed, and... more »

16X20 vs 14X20 for small clubs
I am in the process of putting another set together. For the past 30+ years I played with a 14x18" bass drum since I mainly just play small group jazz gigs or casuals. But I had to sell my 40 year old Gretsch drum kit due to financial problems. Of course now Gretsch are way out of my price range. I think there way over priced anyway.... more »

Deadbeat Students
Recently, the parent of 3 students of mine went AWOL on me, while owing me for lessons. The week after she 'forgot her check book' and said "I'll pay you next week", they pulled a no-show, and since then she hasn't returned my multiple calls or emails. I even sent emails with return receipt requested,... more »

Vistalites
Found a 5pc for under $500. Seems a little high, but I'm feeling that *Mmmmm, never had any of these before* urge. I don't need them at all, but still thought about getting them. Looking for some insight here.

Keystone badge acrolite - worth anything?
I have a '69 keystone badge acrolite that hasn't been used in years. All the ones I see for sale are B/O badges, so I thought I'd check to see if this drum might be worth a bit more than the usual acrolite. Any ideas? Sean

Pearl Snare Wires
I need to replace some snare wires on a Pearl signature snare - so I want to replace with Pearl parts. In their parts catalog they list Ultra-Sound wires but they have C, D, and I-type. Anyone know the difference? Thanks, Steemer
