Look for Jeff's precision, style, and SHUFFLE (he's known as "Mr. Shuffle"
by us industry people...rightfully so) on the following albums:

"TOTO"-anything...ESPECIALLY "Past to Present"

HE also kicks around a few grooves for "Rush Street" by Richard Marx, which-
if memory serves me correctly-might have been his last co-op project before
he went sprayin' for them pesky termite-lookin' critters...

...Pest Control in Malibu must really SUCK for these big-name players to
risk careers to "do it themselves"---ah well, sometimes being the best
has its price. Unfortunately, if there WAS substance abuse involved, that's
nobody's fault but Jeff's---what a bummer. BUT, there was RUMOR that the
Pesticide people paid off the L.A. Coroner's office, so that the allergic
reaction (?) he had to the chemicals he was using, wouldn't be listed
as 'cause of death'---figure the Pest people didn't want the Recording
Industry bigshots callin' their number.

SO, there was "hush-hush" quietness about it all-to protect various
businesses in the area; Coroner's office was PAID (maybe?) to come up
with a more...'suitable' cause of death.

Happens all the time...
FOR YEARS (until "Group Portrait" -CHICAGO) came out, people read in
Rolling Stone (****!!!) that Terry Kath died in Russian Roulette.

BOGUS!!!!
He didn't die playing RR...that requires cylinders-his cause of death
was a .9mm slug ---the automatic misfired as he was cleaning it.

"Hollywood Hype", gang... that's all it is...and the media, and the
coroner's offices, and the other idiots in L.A. would just LOVE to
get their stories...cash in on whatever.

p.s. The incident of Kath's untimely demise is recounted by Chicago
trombonist, Jim Pankow, in the box set liner notes of "Group Portrait"
which is Chicago's most complete history TO DATE.

Figure ya go to the ones who KNOW, right?
Bet Joe Williams, and Steve Porcaro, and Lukather could give us the
REAL word...
