Ludwig Club Date floor tom leg bracket help

I recently acquired an early Ludwig Club Date 14 x 14 floor tom for a
kit I'm piecing together for my daughter. The leg brackets are the old
spring and lever style, only they are missing the springs and levers.
I thought I'd be able to replace them with the newer style mounts but
the hole spacing isn't right. I'd like to avoid drilling extra holes
because the drum is in great shape with no extra holes. Are there any
mounts with the correct hole spacing available or would I be better
off trying to find some levers and springs for the original mounts?
They look pretty cheesy to me so I don't know how durable they would
be if kept original.
