Not mine; just really like that color and the vintage (early seventies, blue/olive badge,
3-ply maple shells), and the kit looks really clean with a decent opening bid price. Turn
that 13" rack into a 14" and set one of the bass drums in the corner and I think I'd have my
dream kit.
BTW, I've never had an 18" floor tom on any of my kits, but I'd sure like to give one a
whirl. Do you guys have any particular likes or dislikes with 18" floor toms?

I use an 18" with one of my rock kits. '80's Tama Superstars. 24,14,16,18,
with a 14x8 snare. BIG sound. I'm a sucker for the low end.

Used to have an 18" as the only floor tom with my Slingerland chrome over
wood set (24-13-14-18). In retrospect I never really liked the slow and low
response. But then again, maybe I just played not powerful enough to make
the sucker sound ;-)
Anyway, I was relieved that 14" low toms came in fashion again. In the late
70s one needed giant barrels and bombastic bins to make any impression on a
fellow musician. At least in my league, that was ;-)
Still using the 18" Slingerland, BTW.
Flat on its back, with a pedal.

Looks great!
Let us know if you get it!

The listing got zapped so somebody must have bought them offline. Ah well, if
I had bought those I'd be the only one in my family celebrating Christmas! :-)

Yeah, the "slow and low response" is usually how I've heard people express
their dissatisfaction with a 18" tom. I've messed around on a few kits that
had them, and I always thought that the owners were tuning them too low. I'm
running a 10x8/12x10/15x13/16x16 configuration right now (was running
10x8/12x10/14x12/16x16, but the 14" just isn't doing it for me; I wish it was a
14x14 floor tom) and I have them all tuned up a bit so I don't get any
unresponsive and thuddy low-end, and the 16x16 floor tom is just SINGIN'! I
think it would be really fun to play with an 18" floor tom to see what I could
get out of it.

I get that sound out of my ddrum 16x12, sounds better than my old
Imperialstar 18 ever did. I am using a black suede emperor and those
Pearl suspension footies.
