replacement for Alvarez System 600TMk II system?

Hi all,

I own an Alvarez acoustic guitar with a System 600TMk II preamp system
in it. I like the preamp well enough... but I really hate the design
of it, in that the battery compartment is really difficult to get at
quickly enough. It's pretty annoying IMO.

My question is, is there another system out there (i.e. Fishman or
something similar) that I could replace the Alvarez preamp with?
Anyone tried it before? I guess as long as the dimensions and the
mounting bracket are similar, in theory it shouldn't be too hard,
right?

Any help is much appreciated.
