Capo 2 (or whatver suits your voice)
Time: 3/4
Key: E (mixolydian and minor)
Part A: play under each line--no precise rhythm implied in the tab
----2-2-2-2-2-2---2-2-2-2-2-----2-2-2-2--
----3-3-3-3-3-3---3-3-3-3-3-----3-3-3-3--
----2h4-2-0-x-x---x-0-x-x-x-----x-0-x-x--
--0---------4---2-----4-2-0--------------
----------------------------0h2-----2-0--
-----------------------------------------
I once had a girl or should I say she once had me
She showed me her room isn't it good Norwegian wood
etc.
This part is real easy to play with a pick and maybe fingers (I just use a
pick). Learn to play the melody first and then keep the upper notes as you
can, they're really just filling space.
Part B:
Dmin Emin
She asked me to sit and she told me to sit anywhere
Dmin Emin A7
But I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair

A few corrections:
>Capo 2 (or whatver suits your voice)
And so all chords below are relative to the capo, not actual pitch.
>Part A: play under each line--no precise rhythm implied in the tab
>----2-2-2-2-2-2---2-2-2-2-2-----2-2-2-2--
>----3-3-3-3-3-3---3-3-3-3-3-----3-3-3-3--
>----2h4-2-0-x-x---x-0-x-x-x-----x-0-x-x--
>--0---------4---2-----4-2-0--------------
>----------------------------0h2-----2-0--
>-----------------------------------------
This sounds way better if as many of the notes are played as hammers and
pull-offs as possible. Like:
--2--------2--2------2--2---2-2---
--3--------3--3------3--3---3-3---
--0h2h4p2p0------0----------0-----
--0---------4-0h2---4p0-----------
------------------------0h2---0---
----------------------------------
Listen to the song to get the rhythm.
>I once had a girl or should I say she once had me
>She showed me her room isn't it good Norwegian wood
>etc.
>Part B:
>Dmin G (note, this is different)
>She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere
>Dmin Emin A7
>But I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair
I went back and played it again and the first chord is a G, not an Emin.
Also I noticed that I was playing a little riff when I sang. I'm not sure if
this is in the actual song, but it fit with the vocal melody:
--3-1-0-3-1-0-3-1-0-3-1-3-3--
--3-----3-----3-----3-----3--
--2-----2-----2-----2-----0--
--0-----0-----0-----0-----0--
-----------------------------
--------------------------3--
A further note: I bet this song would sound real good in drop-D.

The highlighted word should be stay.
That E minor chord should be G major. The fingering I use is 32003x.

Huh? The first chord he shows is a Dmin not an Emin .
The Complete Beatles Book (which is generally accurate) has that
progression as:
Dmin Emin G (on the first line)
Dmin Emin A7 (on the second line)
I play the song that way and it sounds right.

Don't know, but capo on 2 in D (relative open shape) is consistent
with the original recording.

No .... it goes Dmin to Emin to G major (see the other note)
