Reading music without guitar
So to get to my work I gotta take an hour and a half long bus ride. Rather than just sit there, I thought I could do something more useful with my time. I'm trying to working on my reading lately, so I just open a page on a few guitar books I own and try to imagine what I would play and I go without stopping.... more »

I'm hosed...
The main singer of the group of teachers/librarians who will be singing Motown tunes at a benefit at the end of this month and who I will be backing came over tonight. I knew she could sing, but I didn't know just how well. The MoTown stuff came off OK, so we tried something different. Summertime - how hard is that? Well, she needed a better player than I... more »

Need help with a verse.
I have a job coming up with a female vocalist -- she does the "verse" to a lot of her material. She wants to do "In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning" --- and that is not in my repertoire. Can someone give me the lead line and chords to the verse? Thank you very much! Brad

(Clip) The Headstrong Lil' King ... I think my amp hunt if finally over
My Headstrong Lil' King on Wednesday and I'm just thrilled. It's a remake of the 64 Fender Blackface Princeton Reverb that's been upgraded to a 1x12. Total weight is just 31 lbs so it's truly grab and go and at 12 watts I'm absolutely amazed at the amount of clean headroom. The reverb and trem sound pretty much like my memory of the... more »

New Archtops
Remember a scant 10 years ago when archtops were rarely to be found in consumer guitar stores? Seems that changes more and more each day. Anybody seen or heard this thing. At $399, it's seems an economically easy entry point for those who might have a burgeoning interest. I don't know anything about Guitar Research though, they may be hopeless.... more »
