If I'm playing a bunch of stuff that I'll have to read some of the music (l=
ike  a long gig of restaurant background music) I sit. If I'm playing some =
kind of concert and can get by without reading, I stand, especially if I'm =
the leader. I think it's a big help to stand when I have another 3 or 4 peo=
ple in the group. It's easier to walk over to them or even turn and look at=
 them for cues, etc.
