Thanks Paul.

The A sections involve a 5-over-4 bar alternating with a 4-over-5 bar.
Somehow Vito and I had a communication breakdown on the drums intro.
He played 4 on the hi-hat during the 5/4 bars and it was supposed to be
the 4-over-5 figure.
I was so stressed out during the sessions that I didn't even notice that
until I'd gotten home.
But what he did play still sounds pretty damn good to me.
[Likewise, there was a beat added during the bass solo on another tune
that's in 5/4 that we all didn't notice until the session were over.
Luckily Protools allowed us to delete the errant beat and it sounds
perfectly natural.
BTW
The 5/4 tune is called "Nor Wood i" and is my own line based on a reharm
of Norwegian Wood by the Beatles.]

Well if you listen closely, we're not all that even. lol
It sounds cool when my computer plays it perfectly via MIDI, but I had
to play with those damn humans!

The blowing is all in 4/4 (there's a 5-bar phrase or two in there)
except for 4 bars of 5 in the middle.
The tune is called "Fives" after all.
Vito came up with those 5/8 over 5/4 figures during the 5/4 sections of
the blowing in rehearsals, and we just kept playing it that way.
Sadly, I had to work out and punch in my solo lines during those sections.
Sadly, there's a whole lot of punching in that I've had to do on all but
a few of the tunes just to get guitar tracks that won't really bother me
for the rest of my life.
As a matter of fact, I'll probably wind up redoing everything I played
in the studio that day.
But I may keep a few things I did off the floor.
I really wish I'd been playing a lot stronger on these tunes when the
rhythm section was with me in the studio, but I had a lot of other stuff
on my mind over those 2 days and was not in top playing form.
But boy, these digital audio workstations sure make it easier to do this
type of stuff now than it used to be back in 1993 when I did my last album.
I'm doing all the rest of my remedial tracking now at home with my
Axe-FX II and Logic Pro on my iMac.
>Nice, in any case.
Thanks again!
