Gigs, that is.... This area apparently really likes live grassroots
music and suddenly I'm working more than ever. Albany, go figure;)

Whew! You had me worried. I thought you'd be telling us that we had to fight
another war to help Albanians.

What's "grassroots" music? Bluesgrass?

All the gigs are 100% jazz gigs. By grass roots I just meant that
they're non-institutional. No promoters, no ticket sales, no college
or sponsoring corporate entity, all of which mucks up the gears with
either commercialism or charity. It's just the music in simple venues
at ground level.

Albanians--heh. Back in the 90s, I was a Baltimoron.

It's just happenstance that there are a lot of club-owners and/or
audience members? How unusual. I hope it's the first crest of a new
cultural craze…

I gotta ask: What do the Albany dwellers call themselves: al-BIN-ians?

Albanians- just like in Europe. And when they greet you they all
seem to always say "what's going on?".

Do they like Norman Wisdom too?

(obscure Brit reference - unless he's also popular in the US - but I
doubt it!)
