The Hofner JS is no longer on Hofner's site and MF and others list the guitar as discontinued. I have a JS and love it. Nice big archtop sound in a lightweight and little guitar.

I wonder if Stowell ended his relationship w/Hofner. I know he uses other guitars in addition to the Hofner JS model. Anybody know?

Thanks,
Greg

I know John mostly plays guitars built by Mike Doolin but I thought he still had his Hofner last time I saw him. I'll ask him next time I talk to him

I have the Hofner JS model with the violin finish, beautiful sounding guitar and a great guitar to play. I bought it after seeing John Stowell play.

Mine is like this one:

Sweet. I always liked the look of that guitar. I have a Jazzica and
they have some aesthetic similarities.

As a previous poster mentioned, the Verythin is now being produced in Asia. The Jazzica is another quality product that has been discontinued.

I also noticed a lack of marketing in the US on behalf of Hofner. Back when they were rolling out the Jazzica, they seemed to be on the verge of becoming major players in the US archtop guitar market, but that no longer appears to be the case.

Might you be willing to part with it for the right price?

I've done 4 duo gigs with John over the past year....(not that this makes me an authority but of course we talk guitars)...anyway, he's never said anything that would suggest or even hint at a rift. That's a sweet guitar for sure!

Archtop.com currently has a JS Verithin and a Jazzica for sale. Asking price on both is $1995.
