I tried one of these and really like the feel and sound. Of course it
had really light gauge round wounds. Anyone use one of these or the
comparable ES-330?

I am of the mind that any guitar can be used for jazz. Heck, Joe Pass
got wonderful full on electric archtop tone outta his solidbody
Jaguar, Jazzmaster whatever.

Sadly :) I have come to the conclusion that tone is in the fingers,
not in the instrument, assuming whatever it is, it's of decent
quality.

So, if you like it and it sings to you, use it!

I see on MF, that the Casino is the last Elitist MF has and at quite a
discount.

I had the other Elitist model one with dual mini-humbucks; gorgeous
guitar, a tad bright for my ears, but would have been great for
Beatles and other pop-rock music.

I also had the Elitist ES335. It was actually smaller than an ES-335
(I had both at the time) and the FB inlays were cheap matte plastic.
Notonly that, but I discovered that the Elitist line used the thinnest
wiring and cheapest pencil eraser sized mini-pots they could. Compared
to Gibson innards, Elitist innards looked like gumdrops. Why is that
important? Because one of the volume pots went out on me in the first
2 weeks.

I took the liberty of having all the wiring redone and Classic 57's
put in. It made it mroe reliable, but the 57 classics wre a waste of
money as the stock pups were as good.
