Has anyone played this model? Looks like a close relative to the Pat
Martino sig model (chambered mahogany slimline).

While it's basically the same shape, it's a very different guitar.
The Pat Martino is all maple and much closer to a solid body in tone
and feel; the ES-446 is spruce top over a routed semihollow mahogany
body and neck. I've played several and the good ones have been great
-- light as feather, warm and responsive, enough high end for
clarity. But I've also played others that were mid-rangy, nasal and
honky, and just unsatisfying. Build quality varies, too. Some have
been fine, others have had fret and finish issues. That's Gibson for
you. Best advice is try before you buy. It would likely need a good
setup in any case.

Thanks. Yea, Im trying to buy on approval, but it's a consignment, so that
might not be an option.

I think it looks way better than the 446 or pat martino. Different
strokes. ;)

I tried several, My friend's played well . although a bit bright . The
others I tried at stores had didn't sound that great.- they all
needed set ups to begin with.
