I think he's great. Do you reckon the audience here has any idea of
who they're listening to? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBlnzSI6PrM&feature=related

Oh yeah and who is playing the chords during Ron's single note stuff.
So why do they call it LIVE???
Curiously Sharyl
Which vid? In the trio vid, the bassist is playing the bass. In the
singer/guitar vid, it looks legit to me.
I'm curious as to what I'm missing because we have a very popular live
band in the area that gets the good gigs, but it's only 2 guys and
lots of recordings; they sing the leads live and play keys/synths, but
they use prerecorded backing tracks and the audience loves 'em.

The 6-string bassist is clearly playing chords behind Ron--you can see
him doing it in the video.

I haven't seen the video in question but if there's a bass behind the
bass solo that would be Todd. When he does a solo it's really a solo!
Awesome player.
Harry
That's the special thing about this Trio, Ron and his 7 String Plays
the basslines and comps when the Bass player is soloing, and the Bass
player walks and Comps when Ron is playing singlel note solos.
It's definitely live, they do it all the time like here again:

Probably not.
Ron's reharms of the changes for that tune is great too.
Of when you're playing with out a bass player and having to do all
that work is hard on the arms,
I Believe he's wearing 2 arm Bands on the Guitar & Vocal Vid.

I once went to a duo gig with Ron Eschete and Tal Farlow at the Riot
Hyatt on Sunset Blvd in LA. I remember some clown causing a scene
because the bar manager wouldn't give him his cover charge back. He
was complaining that the music wasn't up to a professional standard,
and that he shouldn't have to pay for it.

Fabuloso
WOW, I can only imagine what the guy's problem was!
Maybe he thought there was over dubbing or taping going on because of
Ron's 7 string Walking Bass, and Tal used to use an Octave divider
to drop his bass lines an Octave, so maybe it all sounded unreal to
this guy?
I dunno.
Man that Trio de Paz is something else though.

If you think about it, without bass and drums, a duet with two jazz
guitarists who have never played together before might sound like
random noodling to a musical illiterate who doesn't know the tunes.
But he was still a bigtime douchesack, showing off for his date. I'll
bet he became a record label executive, or maybe a music supervisor
for major films.

Holy smokes...
Good one, heh!
