I'm left-handed and having trouble tracking down certain guitars in the UK but the sites thomann.de and musik-producktiv.co.uk seem well-stocked. Both are in Germany though the latter has an English telephone number too. Has anyone here used the sites and how did it go?

A relative often has stuff sent in from Hong Kong, the US and parts of Europe and has sometimes paid some customs money. Are we exempt from this if it's from an EU country? If not, what would I be paying on top for guitars costing £200 and £900?

Thanks.

Buying from within the EU you won't have to pay import VAT or Excise
Duty in the UK. Your German company, however, will charge you VAT at
their going rate.

I have always found Thomann a good company to buy from, a little more
expensive but my U-bass took 1 & 1/2 days from order to delivery in UK. I
was shocked actually. :~)
