Hi everyone. Has anyone had the opportunity to compare performance of the
Fishman Loudbox 100 with the Ultrasound CP-100? Or even the Ultra AG50?

Thanks,
MK

IME, all of the Ultrasounds sound better than all of the Fishmans.

I too would like to have the opportunity to do a comparison test
between the two, unfortunately, Ultrasound is not available here.
But, for what it's worth, I did recently a real test between Fishman
Loudbox 100 and Roland AC 60, with a guitar of mine. The Fishman is by
far more open sounding and less colored, has a greater dynamic range,
although the Roland gives a not bad "jazz" sound. But compress too
much as soon as you push it a bit (to preserve the two *very little*
speakers from breaking, I suppose). IMO, each have almost unusable
effects, but that is me.
Even at 200 CAN$ more, seems to me that the Fishman has greater
potential. More neutral.

Disclaimer : speaking about sound is perfectly worthless, but sooo
pleasant.

I've compared the Fishman Loudbox 100 with the Ultra AG50. I bought (and love
playing through) the Fishman! The UltraSound was nice; the Fishman was nicer
and had more flexibility with inputs & outputs.

Thanks! Besides the features, is the Fishman more loud and full and still
clear? That's what I'm really looking for, the most clean full
volume/headroom - more so than super-transparency. IOW, which one gets
louder and doesn't break up or flatten out as much? I also like the idea
of the Fishman tweeter that you can turn down if I want to use it with my
archtops in a jazz setting.

Michael,

The Fishman is notably louder than the Ultra AG50. If I've been playing
guitar at a comfortable volume and turn the amp up to fit in with a band, I
usually make minor adjustments to the tone controls (like backing off on the
Bass a little), but I do that with pretty much any amp. I haven't heard any
breakup .... if fact, that would've been a show-stopper for me, since I want
this amp to be clean and pure. Overall, this is the best acoustic amp I've ever
played through. Mind you, I haven't played through any of the really high-end
amps, but this one has the best sound and features of those I *have* played
through. If it was lost or stolen, I'd buy another immediately!
