Hi,
I just recently won a Tacoma PM-20 guitar in a slogan contest that
my local music store was having. I did a little research on the company
over the internet and found that they are a relatively new company. I
like this guitar very much. It's nice looking, just the right size and
sounds great. Does anyone else out there play a Tacoma and if so, what
do you think about their guitars?

I don't own one, but I've played more than a few, and wish I owned
one. Tacoma guitars are well respected at least here on rmmga. I love
the sound, and the necks are wonderful. Enjoy that guitar, It's a
keeper. Your PM-20 is a nice looking guitar too. Good luck with it.

I've played several Tacoma Guitars and loved them! I recently bought one
of their Mandolins, the M1 as a Mandolin was what I was in the market for.
Xmas isn't THAT far off and I'm already in search of a Mahagony Guitar.
Gonna be either a Tacoma Chief or a Martin D-15 or Possibly a Larrivee.

I have tried out several Tacoma guitars and have found some to be on a level
with some of the Taylors I've played. If you like the size and sound, that's
all that matters really unless you're fixin' to get rid of it.

Tom (If you're done with that Tacoma, pass it over here) from Texas

Yup- Tacoma Chief. Love it. Wish I had won mine instead of paying for
it.

Congratulations on your Tacoma...so what was the winning slogan?!

I also have a Tacoma -- a PM15E2 -- that I received for free from the
factory (so I guess my views might seem biased, even though they
aren't). A fine little guitar...very well-balanced sound for a little
guitar -- it's called a "parlor" guitar, but I think it is closer to
000 size. I think it sounds so good because it is relatively deep,
giving it better bass response.

Two things I really like about my PM15: First, the 1 3/4" neck...nice
and wide, though not very thick (i.e., easy to play). And second,
Tacoma has done a good job of dressing the guitar up a bit...things
like abalone rosette, four-color wood binding, bound fretboard.

Several RMMGA participants tried it tonight at the latest Northern
California gathering, and I think most of them were favorably
impressed.

I love my PM-20. Just the right size, sounds great, plays easy and it is
good looking, too.

Nice thing to win. My local stores would most likely give the winner
three picks and a set of strings. I love my Tacoma DM-10. Great sound,
and a fun guitar to play. For the money, I don't believe I could have
done much better. I am convinced that I should own a PM-20 that's in
the local store, but prudence has so far stopped me.

And, give it up, what was the slogan that won?

I just bought a Tacoma Friday night. It's a DR16EC4. I really like it
alot. It's really loud and has a great, balanced tone. I sound at least 8
times better than I did on my Tak.

It's really loud,,,,"

This reminds me that Spinal Tap was one of the loudest bands in Rock and Roll
history.

Simple reason why: the amps went up to 11.

My ears are still ringing from Deep Purple in 1972!!! One of Ritchie
Blackmore's Marshall heads caught fire in the middle of a song. The roadie
ran out, hit it with a fire extinguisher and moved the cable to a backup amp.
Everyone on stage acted like this was a normal occurance. Great show!

I love my PK-30. Beautiful Sound.

I would only warn you to get the neck checked and professionally set-up.
Mine came a little twisted from the factory.
