GOD, HAS THE WORLD GONE INSANE? PEOPLE PAYING
PREMIUM DOLLARS FOR PRE-WORN JEANS WITH HOLES IN THEM, AND
NOW THE SAME FOR GUITARS???
UTTERLY UNBELIEVABLE. JUST BUY A NEW ONE, AND THRASH THE
HELL OUT IF IT ON PURPOSE IF YOU REALLY WANNA SEE DINGS ON YOU
AXE........JUST INCREDIBLE WHAT PEOPLE WILL BUY.....
This gets down to the "mojo" thing I speak of now
and then. A guitar that's had the livin' bejeezuz
played out of (into?) it just seems to play better
or at least inspires something. Trying to recreate
that mojo artificially with paying the dues is
just plain lame but I guess there are enough
posers out there to make it a viable revenue stream.
" shouting ?...we'll have no trouble here !....
this is a local shop, for local people.......
calm yourself Tubbs......i'll deal with this..."
Edward.
"...magnificently aged and distressed..."
finally, a way to describe myself.
come to think of it, all my guitars came with holes in them and I
didn't pay extra.

I keep waiting for the Willie Nelson distressed guitar to come out.

Willie's old N-20 is gay ??....I'd never have guessed.
Mind you, it wouldn't be a first, Mario Cortelli played three of
them :

I loved this comment:
"A little lighter fluid helps to immolate any infidels captured while
singing nancy folk tunes near your property."

Some people have more money than sense. Of course, send me about $1k and
your new guitar and I will make it look like it has really had the be-jeses
played out of it by some star performer. ;>)
Having worn out several guitars, I have an idea of what it looks like.

I found a picture of Willie in the new Martin Guitars Technical Reference,
with his brand new 1970 N-20 and his brand new respectable haircut. I
didn't even recognize him.

I haven't played any of the "Road Worn" models, but have played a few
of the Custom Shop Relics, and honestly, they feel great. I
understand how artificial aging might offend some folks aesthetic
values, but the fact is that worn guitars feel good to play (at least
to me), and the Relics are pretty good imitations of what an old
guitar feels like.
If a guitar feels, sounds, and looks good, who cares about the
marketing strategy?
Mike
Yeah. That's a pun on Roy Rogers' horse's name.

They look totally fake.
But i got a great money making idea: i'll buy brand new
Strats and take a shit on them, then sell them for more!!
Sweet!!!

The cigarette holder trick was common practise (in my stupid youth when
I smoked).

The only person who got the 'fag-in-the-headstock' thing right was
Clapton. He also had the ability to take solos with one in his gob
without sneezing.
Admirable.
