Ex-forces seems to be a good place to be at the moment.

They're raging again about our commitments in Afghanistan again today.
It's getting difficult to believe that however much work we do out
there they'll all be at each other's throats again the minute we
leave.

Another big parade yesterday at Wooton Bassett - six more guys shot by
a man they'd trained for the Afghan army..Jeez.

And then some woman gives a recording of the Prime Minister's personal
apology (for spelling her surname wrong after her son came home in a
body bag) to the 'Sun' newspaper for all to read...

The Daily Mail is ran a campaign to get the entire football league to
have poppies stitched onto their shirts for the weekend matches -
completely forgetting that in fact we *did* fight two world wars so
we were free to be able to wear what we like - the clubs that refused
(although I can't see why they did - it would have been a nice
gesture) were pilloried right across the red tops. Bizarre.

Election time is coming up alright - things are getting wierder and
wierder - The Daily Telegraph splashes MP's expenses all over the
headlines for about a month - a paper owned by a pair of billionaire
brothers who live in a tax haven and haven't paid any income tax for
25 years...

Anyway, respect for those who have fought and died - but it pisses me
off that their deaths have been used as a political football over
here.

Yep. Got a big honkin' bacon cheeseburger. Yum!

The manager told me that Applebees will be doing this every year now.
