Two days ago someone walked into my apartment in the afternoon and
stole my Larrivee L-03R and a laptop in downtown Juneau, AK. The
guitar was in a hard case with the Larrivee logo. The serial number is
76608. The spruce top is figured/bearclaw and it has a small scratch
near the soundhole by the high string. If anyone has any information
on this guitar or notices something similar on eBay please let me know.

The guitar has been recovered. I put up posters and a shady guy called
from a payphone and later dropped it off at work. He claims someone
sold it to him before leaving town. Through the power of the internet
I found out that the shady guy is on probation. I'll have the police
get fingerprints and see if they match anything.

Congratulations! Did you have to pay him anything?

Congratulations!
I hope it's in the same condition as before. It's good to hear it's been
returned to you.

The shady guy says he paid some money for the guitar (innocently, of
course) and then when he found out it was stolen he just voluntarily
gave it back to you?

Did he ask you to reimburse him? Or was ther a reward?

Or did he claim that out of the goodness of his heart he wouldn't
care about the money he lost and he'd just write it up to experience?

Sounds pretty shady. But then, he DID bring it back... Presumably if
he had stolen it, he wouldn't have had to do that - he could have just
dumped it somewhere if he was nervous about it being too hot.
