Hi Cliff, sorry I couldn't chat - had to go out. Back now. I've
checked in my emails and it's w/e starting March 19 @ Belper (not
Hargate) this time. You fixing to hang around a bit longer this time?

Well hopefully, but i was mainly thinking that Tony Furtado will be
around, but ,..unfortunately, from about April 10th onwards.
He'd be a great player to get along, he's doing the 'Sore Fingers'
weekend in April.

Been following the guy for almost twenty years, have put gigs on for
him, and caught his solo week last friday, first time he's been over
in 12 years.
He's from the Bay Area of California, made some superb, progressive
bluegrass / newgrass albums in the early 90's, but then got heavily
into acoustic blues and slide playin.
He plays a 1944 Martin O-17, which sounds really amazing....one of the
very best amplified acoustic sounds i've ever heard.

Anyway, UK13 (I think that's what it is) is at the Old Baptist Chapel
in Belper w/e 19th March 2010.

There's only 23 beds of which 10 are already taken, so if you want to
be in the Chapel get your revenge in early and send the usual �50
deposit to Alan Marshall ASAP. Fee the same as last year (�200). I
don't expect there to be many day visitors - there were virtually none
at Hargate this year (Chris used to promote it heavily through Club
Acoustic) so I can't budget for them.

There's plenty of B&B nearby so if we're oversubscribed then the B&B
bill will be taken into account (we'll round up/round down to an
average B&B cost - some of them are very cheap - some of them do
extravagant breakfasts etc, but the main costs are going on food,
accommodation & beer as usual).

Guest artists TBA - there's virtually no budget for them this year so
I'm looking for favours. It also occurs to me that given the talent we
have and the size of the venue we don't need to splurge.

The ratio of single-to-double beds is far better at Belper than it was
at Hargate. We used to lose half a bed (if not more) in every suite at
Hargate.

Fairly common Portuguese name, Pete.
He's Murcan and she's Canadian, ( and not anywhere near as talented.)

rolls and the guitar finger picking was standard alternating bass Travis

OK John, since Ewe asked .......here's Tony's reply, just in :

" not exactly...yues for the most part, there is standard travis-
picking going on but there is a lot of banjo rolls incorporated,and
cross over with the thumb to the higher strings for some of the more
intricate melody stuff, and some "single string"technique borrowed
from banjo...all may not have been shown in the clip, but its all
incorporated in my guitar playing
