Via Facebook to Betsey:
Sheli Aarden Monacchio We are ok. No power. No cell service. Spending the day w my brother in law and sister in law. Scary night for sure. Traffic lights all out and trees and power lines down. Same in your area? Hope you and your family are fine. Thanks for checking on me Betsy !!

Good way to address it, Ray. I was watching the CNN coverage and wondering where in NJ ol' Norm lives. Then I thought of Steven Bornfeld(sp?), Bob Dorgan upstate, Ed in Baltimore, as you say, etc..
Glad to read in the other posts that some of.."our group" are okay and I hope the same goes for those who can't communicate yet.
Coincidentally, as we watched some of the coverage last night, we got a freakish, hail/rain/wind/thunderstorm. Not at all common for late Oct here.

Norm's in Texas but monitoring (according to his FB postings). We came through unscathed here in Central Massachusetts; power stayed on and no trees decided to move into the house.

And oh yeah, Steven Bornfeld... Hoping for the best.

I just checked in here to see if anyone had heard anything from the East coasters. Thanks for starting the thread Ray.
Hope they're all okay. It looks like it was pretty rough in some sections.
The storm was running out of steam by the time it got far enough inland to affect my area. Got a few trees laying in the yard and lost power for 8-9 hours, but no significant damage that I've seen anywhere in the area.
The other person I'm a little concerned about is Joan Park.
I think RI had some significant damage.

Coastal RI is what got battered. Inland fared much better.
