Central London commuter-friendly acoustic evening

I'm setting up an early evening commuter-friendly singaround/acoustic
thing starting at 6.15pm so we commuters can have a couple of hours
and still be home at not-too-late-o'clock.
I've booked the perfect venue: quiet upstairs bar, not too big, not
too small. It's at the north end of Waterloo Bridge so ideal for those
commuting into Waterloo and Charing Cross. Handy for tube lines to
everywhere else. End of The Strand adjacent to Covent Garden/Aldwych.
Bombardier and London Pride on tap. The Pride is excellent.
I will bring a "house" guitar. It's a Yamaha dreadnought - an FG430.
Pretty decent.
It is on Monday 30th November and perhaps more in the new year if
there's enough interest.
Your constructive thoughts more than welcome. But, more than that,
your strong commitment to support it would be excellent!

I remember reading -- not that long ago, I think (but my memory isn't
to be trusted) -- about plans to build a transAtlantic tunnel. Can't
recall if it was going to be for trains only, or if one would be able
to drive a car.
Of course, I get nervous (if I allow myself to think about it) when I
drive through tunnels under smallish rivers like the St. Lawrence or
the Fraser. I'm not sure I'd be able to maintain control over my
thoughts if I were under the ocean for hours.
In any case, flying is generally cheaper -- if exponentially more
uncomfortable and inconvenient -- for those longish trips, unless
you've got several people sharing the cost of gas.
I wish I could make it too. I'm not sure whether Texas is closer than
London from where I am: both are far. I *may* try for an East Coast
gathering sometime though.

There's an old joke (Canadian) that goes something like this.
A father in London, England calls his brother in Vancouver, BC, and says:
"My daughter has applied to a university in Canada and she will be
flying into Montreal next week. If I give you the flight number, can
you pick her up at the airport?"
The Vancouver brother replied:
"You pick her up. You're closer."
I haven't actually measured the distances involved (or even looked
them up), but if London isn't closer to me than Washington and Oregon,
it sure isn't much farther away.
It takes me about 50 hours of driving to get to Vancouver, BC from my
house. I made it to Gulfport, MS in about 28 hours of driving a week
or so after Katrina, and Texas can't be *that* much farther down the road.
So East Coast is closest, then Texas, then either London or the
Pacific Northwest...

This is what we need - more music from Brits about places. The
Americans have a long history of writing songs about moments in time,
and a lot of them are centred on places. We don't seem to do that.

That tune reminds me of an open mic we used to frequent when I lived in
Boulder. The guy who MC'd the event would always go first and would
always start out with Vincent Black Lightning. He couldn't play it
properly and pretty much made a travesty out of it. I wanted to tell him
to let me do the playing and he could do the singing, but that probably
would have hurt his feelings so I never said anything.

Yes I have. There were no responses. Although we had a good turn-out,
I'm pretty sure none came via ukmg, rmmga or ukmf. Of course you'd be
more than welcome, Jon, should you manage to be this far south on the
