Firefox + Flash/youtube conflict

I'm running the latest Firefox 3.6 beta 3, and it kept crashing trying
to play the macromedia flash files on Youtube.
So i've just tried with IE and Google chrome, and though hey were slow
to load, they did both work. Anyone else having trouble with Firefox /
Youtube ??

The video worked fine for me on Firefox 3.5.5/Mac. Perhaps it would
help to download the newest Flash player. It seems to me I've had to do
that from time to time.

I've run into some problems with Firefox betas like that. I don't
think they always have everything working in these betas...I generally
avoid the upgrade until its out of beta and all the fiddly bits are
working together, but that's just me. I'm running 3.5.5 with Win7/64,
no problems on the youtoobz. Good luck.

A classic...heard the joke a million times, but never saw the video.
Played fine here. Those Betas can be great, but I've never had much
luck with Firefox's betas--they're never really ready for prime time
(which is, of course, why they're betas). I've been on Agent's beta
testing team for several years now; their betas are usually very
well-worked-over before they even hit beta stage. Always fun testing
them out.
But that's just me...

For quite a while now neither Netscape nor IE will bring up Youtube for
me, so I've been using Safari which works well.
Damned if I know why Netscape and IE stopped doing it.

I've got both Mac OS 10.4.11 and Mac OS 10.6.2 running 3.5.5 Firefox and
playing Youtube easily on both.

It's pretty much working....it doesn't like the Dylan clip....it does
a weird thing now....it loads the whole clip before playing it, but at
least it didn't crash.

Glad to hear you got it working, Cliff. I often have problems with
various pages, usually with graphics. My solution has been to use an
add-in for Firefox called IETab. It allows Firefox to emulate IE. Does
a good enough job to do Windows Update with Firefox. Pretty cool, and
free. It sets up so you can change from FF to IE with one click.
Highly recommended.
