This is great. But why are all Muppet guitarists left handed? Not just
in this clip, they always have been.

Thanks for the link Ed. Epic! In a parallel universe kinda way!

Perfect way to start the day! I loved Animal's 'Mama' part!
No. It didn't bother me at all.

I think it is because the majority of puppeteers (Muppeteers?) are right
handed.
However Kermit must be ambidextrious. He used to play left-handed, but
there was a TV commercial last year for Target stores that featured
Kermit on the (right-handed, 5 string) banjo and Brad Paisley on the
guitar. It was something of a cutting contest (Paisley won, but some of
the licks implied that ol' Kermit had been woodshedding quite a bit).

If a serious question - They are, because the puppeteer has their right
hand up the puppets ass handing all the mouth and body action. That
leaves the puppeteer's left hand free, so they put a fake hand cover on
(that looks like the puppets hand) and use it to strum. I guess it
looks bad if the puppet can move their hand up and down the fret and the
other hand dead (unless they can sell that the puppet hammers and pulls
every note - lol)
I guess you'd know if the puppeteer is left handed - The puppet would be
playing righty then....

Whoops - Sorry - didn't see this post before replying...
D'oh! That's so obvious now you've explained it!

This guitar stuff is obviously more complicated than it looks.
Especially when there are strings involved in just pulling the strings.

Yea - maybe I should try playing with a fake muppet hand on...
I've always admired how well you manage to play in that full body muppet
suit - mask and everything.
