Let it b now known that these guys along with many others are not just
people building guitars or other stringed instruments but are truly
artists all. They do something that most of us will never be able to do.
They start with wood, glue, some strings, tuning machines and other stuff
and not only create a great sounding guitar but a work of art as well.
American Spirit is not just a great sounding guitar that brings out what
musical soul I have but is a thing of beauty to look at.
To Alan C who each time he starts a guitar its with the thought that
it will be the perfect instrument. Spending long hours in the shop day
after day using you own two hands and brain to create a thing of great
beauty and playability and to put your name on it is something most of
us will never do

O think we owe a great deal to all the luthier's out there and maybe we
should have a national Luthier Day here in the group to show our thanks.
You guys (and gals) who build such great guitars have my gratitude and
thanks.

brewed up the following, and served it to the group:

AMEN, brother. I've met so many fine luthiers through this
group...and if I won the lottery tomorrow (better buy a ticket), I
know the first thing I'd do is order about 7 or 8 guitars from 7 or 8
different builders...then more...

A nationasl luthier's day? Can you imagine anything worse? A bunch of
bearded old farts hanging out talking about guitars?

Good Grief!

The only problem I see is limiting it to only one day.

Those guys on this group and not, who build those icons of tone, are to be
admired and honored. It is a shame that some really good builders don't get
the respect and compensence they deserve. For a builder with talent to have
to give it up is a sad, sad thing, whether for loss of income or due to
health. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.... even though they
cringe and say silent prayers whenever I play one of their creations or tell
others that I have one.
