Westminster Chorus takes TOP PRIZE!

It is with GREAT joy and pride that I send out this note...The
Westminster Chorus -- an all male chorus of college-age singers from
Westminster, CA has bagged the title of "The Choir of the World, 2009"
at the just concluded International Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales
(UK). They convincingly beat out winners of the Mixed Choir, Chamber
Choir, Male Choir and Female choirs from previous rounds for the
coveted title! They had previously won the Folk Choir and Barbershop
chorus categories besides placing 2nd in the Male choir competition as
well (which I thought they should've also won, actually). Follow the

Annual festival which includes Whitacre's "Lux Aurumque," and
wonderful settings of "Didn't my Lord deliver Daniel" and "Shenandoah"
among others.

I've been a huge fan of this group for a while now but this tops their
previous achievements which includes them being crowned the
International Barbershop Chorus Champions in 2007! Enjoy! :-)
