need to be known by artists all around the world.
We're not too obstrusive and once in a week or so will post the new
vacancies. We hope you'll not flame us and will help us in this new service,
created by music enthusiasts for music most important people: YOU.

professional performing musicians, it is certainly interesting to see
what might be out there. It also might be a reason for some
interesting string players to check out this NG. While it is unlikely
that I would seek a professional opportunity (I am retired and
reasonably well off) I noted for example that the Madison Symphony (I
assume in Madison Wisconsin where I went to school) was looking for a
violist. Now I own property in Madison and if circumstances required,
I could alway relocate there to occupy the condo I own next to the
University. The availability of such a group, given that I could be
accepted, might help me make a decision on where to relocate.
Now I suspect that the Berlin Philharmonic would be a bit of a stretch
for me, but I might be at the level that one of the regional
symphonies might be possible. True, I am strictly a volunteer player
now because I had a substantial career, but should I ever give up on
this area (Wash DC) I would like to know if certain cities have
symphonies and what the chances of making those symphonies might be.
Some of our younger participants, those still in school, might also
get an idea of what career opportunities are really out there.
