Best bow hair

I have been rehairing bows for 29 years. I purchased my bow hair from
Michael T Sowden in the UK, until I heard where he buys his hair from
(a man in the US who buys from a Chinese man in Qingdao, China). I
switched to TwoTree International in 2005, because they buy their hair
directly from the slaughterhouse. They also buy hair from living
horses. They go to the dressing facilities every year and purchase
new tails at the auction. Pretty cool!

Hi, Michael Sowden Jnr here. Just a quick note about our "U.S" supplier, we buy direct from China for our Blue String Brand, we have done for many years!! Our Canadian hair comes from Canada, and our Gold String "Stallion, un-bleached" is sourced from China, also direct. Collecting hair from "live" horses??? What! This is not the way hair is collected, no person would go around taking hair from a perfectly healthy animal, it is always harvested from the slaughter houses, wherever they may be in the world. Our hair is collected via our factory based in China and will always remain so. Nothing wrong in purchasing hair from China or any other country for that matter, as long as the factory know what they're doing to sort it. Good clean strong naturally white hair free from defects, just like what we sell, year in year out.
