I saw the big apple circus today. The bassist (electric bass) was
excellent but he played with a glove on his left hand. Why would
anybody do that?

I've seen a bassist with gloves playing with Zawinul once. I asked my teacher
about it, who said that he has some kind of alergy, I think nickel alergy.
