While at Maxville earlier this month, I picked up the 48th
Highlanders new CD of church music. There are a couple of more
conventional sets in there, however, and one tune I especially liked was a
toe-tapping 4/4 called "The Irish Guards Welcome to Toronto." Does anyone
know who wrote this tune, where it is published and the story behind it?
Also, the discussion of the World's results reminded mem of
something. A few months back I wrote the RSPBA to ask if they were ever
going to do a video tape of the Grade I competition in addition to the CD.
They replied there were "no plans" for such a video, although it
had been discussed.
Well, I say let's get them to make some plans. I suggest that if
any of you out there would like to see a video tape of this event as much
as I would, write a letter to the RSPBA and let them know. The address is:
