[1999-11-28] London gets noisier
* London has a new venue flying the under the banner "HINOEUMA". The new club
focuses on "industrial, experimental, noise, power electronics, ambient noise, death
industrial, ritual" and whatever other challenging or difficult sounds they can
dredge up. The club kicks off on the 14th of January with a live event (bands yet to
be announced) and if you want to be on the initial roster, drop a note to Hagshadow

[1999-11-28] Mediacore at it again
* Vancouver freaks Mediacore are sponsoring another event this December 5th at a yet
be disclosed location. On board though will be Hospital (aka Noisebludgeon) in their
first local show since returning from Japan, Smuk Noise (also involved with Smaq,
Smaqu-2) and Musikill (involved with Raped Ear and Mediacore). For full details on

[1999-11-26] Spectre looms over a vinyl empire
* Belgian label Spectre has just unleashed several new releases of challenging
sounds. First up is an LP from KRAKEN entitled "Aquanaut". This album is limited to
500 copies, comes on transparent blue heavy weight vinyl and has 6 tracks totalling
over 47 minutes. The second release is a split between PAL and AH CAMA-SOTZ. The 7"
is called "Audiowall - Guilty" and is limited to 399 copies. Each band remixes the
other's material with the total playing time at over 13 minutes. Finally, TORTURA
dish up a 7" entitled "Mental Agony - Victim", also limited to 399 copies and also
clocking in at 13 minutes. If all this noisy goodness has got you slathered up, drop

[1999-11-25] Breaking Hymen news
* European power noise and post industrial label Hymen has just dropped a couple of
new releases into the unexpecting world at large. First up is a new dose of Xingu
Hill entitled "alterity", the fourth release from this act. The CD is described as
covering ground from "groovy ambient tunes with surrealistic atmospheres to chaotic
soundscapes towards slower, more experimental pieces which however form an intimate
coexistence". You should also keep your eyes out for the upcoming HushHush release
comprised of a tag team match between ambre (part Xingu Hill), Mark Spybey and Mick
Harris. Also new from Hymen is the 10" LP "metastases" from oil, described as being
"steady minimalistic beats and electrostatic movements, deep bass sounds stretch out
to give a spacey feel of modern electrical manipulations". Releases in the works
include a 3" CD from Bochumwelt, a Celluloid Mata 12" and a Starfish Pool 12". You

* Industrial and elektro mag DAMn! is gearing up to release issue #17 this January
and are now putting out the final call for folks wanting their adds to appear in the
print edition of the mag. If you are interested you should drop a note to

* Soleilmoon, in their relentless schedule of updates, has added a bunch of new
material to their catalog. On board are a number of new releases from World Serpent
including CURRENT 93 "All Dolled Up Like Christ" (double CD), NURSE WITH WOUND "The
Swinging Reflective" (CD), SOIL BLEEDS BLACK "Alchemie" (CD), SIEBEN "Forbid the
Sun's Escape" (CD) and VOLCANO THE BEAR "The Inhazer Decline" (CD). Other new

[1999-11-23] Pax goes High Speed at Inception
* Inception Records artist Pax has just released a new album entitled "High Speed
Digital Processing", the second ambient techno endeavour from Sevren-Ni Arb of
X-Marks The Pedwalk and Heiko Daniel of Eco. The disc is described as "lush ambient
sequences & straight-ahead dance beats, combined with minimal vocals" and you can
order the album online via the Inception site (and soon through regular distro
channels). In other Inception news, the new Sabotage disc "Concrete" is due to be
released within the next three weeks and the label is looking for DJ's interested in
pursuing a simultaneous release party for the new year. If you are a DJ interested

[1999-11-22] Ratcheting the Noise Gate
* Noise Gate Magazine is sponsoring a day long event of "experimental soundworks"
under the banner ATAVISTIC RATCHETS on Saturday November 27 at Lewisham Arthouse,
140 Lewisham Way, London SE4 6PD. During the afternoon you can experience a sound
installation colpiments of Scopac, Pia Gambardella, Paddy Collins, Daniel James
Newnam and Philip Waterworth. The doors swing wide between 12pm - 4.30pm and
admission is free. Night time sees a live event with Scopac, Daniel James Newnam,
Adam Bohman, Jonathon Bohman, Stanier Black 5, Scalpel, Tom Wallace and Alfredo

* Label L.S.D. Organisation has just launched their web site with full details on
all their current tape releases Lux Sexualis DeOrganism "Homicides Within.....",
Praying For Oblivion "Bookburner's Anthem" and The Violet Grind "Sacred Order of
God". Furthermore, another 15 or so tapes are in the works with artwork and other
details available via their release section (including sounds from Navicon Torture
Technologies, Ovum, Kommune, Sodium and a slew of other noisy folks. Finally, you

* Industrial and darkwave act Scaythe has just released a new 14 track disc entitled
"Sacred Nothing". Soundclips of their new effort are available via the link above

[1999-11-19] Dead Voices Not Breathing but on tour
* Dead Voices On Air and Not Breathing have released their official and confimed
dates for their upcoming tour. Their days of sleeping in a cramped van and smelling
dirty socks kicks off on November 25 in Vancouver, B.C. at the Brickyard and then
winds through Seattle, Portland, Eugene, Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles,
Phoenix, Albuquerque, Austin, San Antonio, Columbia, Chicago, Detroit, Columbus,
Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Lowell,
Boston, New York City, Rochester, and finishes off in Toronto, Ontario on December

* The Brutum Fulmen have a just added the new track "Rain God" to their mp3.com
site. The peice combines a computer damaged live show recording with a "field
recording of doors (hinges, locks, etc) and bicycles made during a thunderstorm". In
related news, Eggshell and Four Dead have a Brutm Fulmen 7" in the pressing plant

* Obsure ambient and soundscape artist Audio ELW has just uploaded a fresh MP3 of
rather uncomfortable ambience entitled "Sleep, volume IV" which is downloadable via

described as "investigating the more subtle effects of a persons direct environment"

* From the ashes of Pinch A Loaf has spawned a new "sound artist" label called
Ground Fault, the bastard brainchild of Erik Hoffman. Currently 4 CDs are available
including doses of Zipper Spy, Eric La Casa, Radiosonde and Government Alpha with
more on the way. Ground Fault is also hell bent on makig their CDs cheap with
current prices at $8 for 1 disc, $15 for 2, $20 for 3 and extra CDs $5 a pop after
