Any group that gives us blocks like

Haujobb/ Freeze Frame Reality (1995)(Pendragon/ Offbeat)/ "Trivial",
"Perfect Average" and "Sensor" (22:20)

Haujobb/ Solutions for a Small Planet (1996)(Metropolis/ Offbeat)/ "The
Cage Complex", ("Nature's Interface",) "Depths", "Distance", "Clockwise"
and "The Cage Complex" again (27:38(32:50))

and

Haujobb/ ninetynine (1999)(Metropolis)/ "overflow", "cutedge", "creator",
"x-flow", "less" and "grounds" (33:28)

deserves our enduring gratitude here on rmi, although IIRC _ninetynine_
was "broiled in Hell-fire" (Melville) here on its release (or rather
re-release, there being some sort of fiddling around with it at the time),
its exercise in "musical space(s)"-- reminiscent in a way of

Thine Eyes/ Christian Sex Loops (1998)(Doppler Effect)/ "House Parts",
"The Celibate", "Count (amendments 3)", "Vaseline Machine" and
"Uncomplication" (28:25)

--not finding much immediate support 'round here.

Haujobb/ Polarity (2001)(Metropolis)/ "Subsonic", "Unseeing", "Last Hero"
and "Violator" (21:11)

followed and struck me as being comparatively weaker than the preceding
releases, but basically seeming to be an exercise in the NIN "American
club music" vein-- much like Laether Strip did with

Laether Strip/ The Rebirth of Agony (Cleopatra)(1997)/ "the edge of
anger", "how do I know?", "my mind is my master", "lies to tell", "switch
on/switch off" and "make my blood boil" (31:32)

although Laether Strip did it much better, better even than NIN . . . .

And then came Haujobb's _Vertical Theory_ in 2003, which I couldn't get
into much at all at the time (or at least when I finally picked it up) . . . .

But on review we now have a _VT_ breakthrough, in that I think I finally
"get" the release thematically (see subject header), and even managed to
scarf up a block with sufficient lyrical/thematic continuity and
sufficiently-unsprained rhythms to be quite amusing and much more than
listenable:

Haujobb/ Vertical Theory (2003)(Metropolis)/ "Penetration", "Renegades of
Noize", "Metric", "Platform" and "The Noise Institute" (23:54)

I guess I should go back and re-review _Polarity_ now-- and have they
released anything since _VT_ . . . ?
