[1999-04-29] KK Null playing in Oakland, CA
* The Sandcrawler in Oakland will be hosting a noise show on Saturday, May
15th with KK Null, Bill Horst, Noisegate and Tom Dimuzio. The Sandcrawler
is located at 48 Victory court, near Jack London Square. The event starts
at 8pm with an admission of $5.

[1999-04-28] Experimental cable show accepting submissions
* Ambient on Cable is a presentation of alternative film/video and sound
art, currently with an emphasis on experimental material. It airs mondays
at 8:30 pm in Cupertino, CA on cable channel 15, and on cable channel 26
in Los Altos, CA. In a couple of months, there will be a special showing
on a larger cable channel, which can be seen all around the south San
Francisco bay area. It can also be seen in realmedia format via their
website. They are currently accepting work for subsequent episodes and
full guidelines can be found here.

[1999-04-28] Gameboy Records update
* Gameboy has announced the release of a solo work by Aaron Hibbs under
the name Digestive System of Unicron. This 2 x C60 is four one-side pieces
covering a wide range of noises from minimalist soundscapes to explosive
effects loops. They have also added a new Aube 7 inch to their distro list
and expect a slew of new items for May.

[1999-04-27] SlipDisc cheats death
* Slipdisc has nailed down fresh funding and all their bands have been
been assigned to the new label which is called M3 Music. The same people
are running the new label and it is still distributed via
Slipdisc/Universal. According to Frank C from M3, 'Any breaches made to
any bands were not due to lying, they were due to financial problems.' New
singles will be released shortly by the Clay People and Drown, new
recordings are being done N17, Rorschach Test and Final Cut and some M3
bands will be involved in video game soundtracks (NIHIL for one).

* Mainstream media can be so pathetic at times (well a lot of the time).
DigitalCity Denver referenced iBASE as the 'Gothic music index' (iBASE has
a far wider scope than just Gothic music) in its article on the Columbine
High School shootings: While not all Goths are hate-mongers as these boys
seemed to be, many of the hate sites posted on the internet idenfity with
many of the elements of Gothic culture.

[1999-04-20] Industrial Challenge #1 issued by The New York Industrial
Front
* The New York Industrial Front has challenged the industrial community to
generate a song using only a white noise sample available from the NYIF
website (letting folks showcase their mastery over sampler/synthesis
techniques). There are some strict rules and the complete run down can be
had from the NYIF website. This challenge is open to anyone, anywhere and
closes on August 15, 1999 and submissions may be chosen to appear on the
next Black Mechanical Heart release, if the challenger approves inclusion.
