Upset ? No, not really. I mean, child pornography is an awful thing
and anybody involved in such sick behavior should be prosecuted.
However, I think a consumer should be given some kind of mental
treatment and not just punishment.

As a musician, yeah, Glitter had some good tunes in his heyday, but he
failed to evolve to keep any relevance after the seventies (at least I
don't know any later stuff if that's an indication).

I suppose you also agree that computer repairmen should be allowed to breach
your privacy and narc you out to the cops... it could've just as easily been
pirated warez, or glitters manifesto for the revolution. BUT of course it had
to be child pornography.. everyones willing to give up their freedom under the
spectre of child pornography right?

We used to have the good old Commi's as an excuse to stamp out individual
rights. But they kinda fizzled out, so we use kids instead.

Exactly.
I didn't hear about the incident, so I can't make a judgement on Gary
Glitter.

Children being forced to partake in sexual acts for the voyeuristic
pleasure of others is obviously a "sick&wrong" thing....
However, "child porn" has become this demonic catchphrase....

How about the well-known, professional photographer who happened to be a
mother.... and got her kids taken away from her because she took some
completely innocent pictures of her very young children running around
nude?

I've seen the pictures, and I've seen similar pictures on bilboards for
baby powder or whatever in Europe.
Was the uncensored Nirvana album cover with a baby child porn?

Personally, I think it's our society that's sick if we can't look at a
picture of a naked 2-yr-old without having sexual thoughts!

Gary Glitter was one of the original glam rockers. He had one big hit
in the US, the instrumental "Rock and Roll (part 2)" which is played at
nearly every sporting event these days (bum ba da da, Hey!, bu bu bum).
There is a story about this song being sampled by the JAMs/KLF in the
"Doctoring the Tardis" single (using the name of The Timelords) that I
related in the first post in this thread, if you can find it -- Donald
